To commemorate James’ unprecedented 23rd NBA season, the NBA and Topps have introduced a special commemorative jersey patch that James will wear throughout the remainder of the regular season. The patch marks a milestone no player has ever reached, blending on-court achievement with the collectible legacy that preserves basketball history.

A Patch Built to Honor an Unmatched Career

The patch will be worn on the upper right chest of James’ jersey and features a vibrant, multi-color design representing the three franchises that have defined his career: Cleveland, Miami, and Los Angeles.

At the center is a silhouette of James performing his iconic pregame chalk toss, a visual synonymous with his dominance and longevity. Anchoring the design is the number 23, symbolizing both his jersey number and the historic length of his career.

James is expected to wear the patch in every remaining regular-season game. After each contest, the Lakers’ equipment manager will carefully remove the patch, date it, and document the process on video. The patch will then be shipped to Topps’ production facility in Dallas, where it will be authenticated by CGC before being embedded into a future trading card.

Each patch is game-specific, turning every appearance James makes this season into a one-of-one piece of NBA history. Select patches will be featured in ultra-rare Topps cards, ensuring that every night James steps on the floor carries lasting significance beyond the final buzzer.
