BREAKING: Chipper Jones fires back at SEC detractor on Twitter

Chipper Jones BravesIf you’re a Braves fan, chances are that you’re also an SEC fan. It’s easy for the two to overlap, which they did over the weekend with Chipper Jones giving hell to the most-hated man in the Southeastern Conference — Danny Kanell.

The former Florida State quarterback, who has now become the SEC’s biggest detractor, took to Twitter to compare the Florida Gators in their win over the Ole Miss Rebels to the Kansas Jayhawks for their win over the Colorado Buffaloes in a derogatory manner.

If you’re more of a Braves fan than a college football fan, Florida upset Ole Miss, knocking them out of the College Football Playoff conversation, which Colorado similarly had happen to them by Kansas.

So, how does it relate to the Braves? Fan favorite Chipper Jones took to Twitter to give Kanell a piece of his mind, something everyone in Braves Country would’ve liked to do.

“Hey Danny….I say this with all due respect for ur mediocre career and even less mediocre career after throwing senseless picks at FSU……STFU! We know u hate the SEC, we get it. No need to pee in our corn flakes cuz ur on ur period! Congrats on Charleston Southern.”

Danny Kanell’s alma mater, Florida State, owns a 2-9 record, with their most recent win being over FCS Charleston Southern. The Florida Gators are by no means the Georgia Bulldogs, but the Seminoles are absolutely pathetic this year.

Kanell is infamous for his ludicrous takes on the SEC, and he’s made Florida State one of the most hated programs in the country. Fortunately, for everyone involved, it can be handled in Tallahassee.

Florida will travel to Florida State in Week 14, and Chipper Jones’ Gators will get their chance at ending the Seminoles’ streak of winning the last two matchups.

Breaking: Braves outfielder Jurickson Profar has quietly mastered the art of the “private sanctuary.” Since arriving in Atlanta, the switch-hitter has kept his wife and four children—including a newborn born in September 2025—entirely out of the spotlight, anchoring family life in deep ties to Curaçao and the Dominican Republic.
