Cowboys Headlines: Lamb on fixing drops; Overshown eyeing Mahomes sack

With less than 48 hours now until the Cowboys are back on the field to face the defending AFC champs three years running, Cowboys fans are hopeful that receiver CeeDee Lamb can get over his case of the dropsies in a hurry. The four-time Pro Bowler says it’s been a simple matter of trying to run before securing the catch and that he’ll be locked in come Thursday. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer says he’s not worried about his WR1 and swears he’s seen an uptick in intensity after Sunday’s lackluster showing. For what it’s worth, when Lamb has a bad game, history does show he knows how to rebound in a big way.

Meanwhile, George Pickens, Osa Odighizuwa, and KaVontae Turpin were limited on Tuesday, but that’s an upgrade from Monday… and Caelen Carson has a hamstring worth keeping an eye on. And DeMarvion Overshown says he’s extra-eager to bag Patrick Mahomes during their Week 13 meeting; the two actually crossed paths while schoolkids back in East Texas a decade ago.

Jerry Jones told an incredible story about Post Malone as a youngster. Turns out his dad used to work at Texas Stadium, and Post used to sleep right there on a cot at the stadium on nights when his dad was putting in late hours. It’ll be a full-circle moment when Post takes the field for the Thanksgiving halftime show.

The Chiefs are trying to get healthy before kickoff, with dangerous running back Isiah Pacheco looking to make his return after a three-week absence. Head coach Andy Reid won’t promise, though, how much action he’ll see. One interesting development to watch: Kansas City did sign ex-Texans ballcarrier Dameon Pierce to their practice squad. Patrick Mahomes looks fine despite an appearance on the injury report, and Xavier Worthy’s ankle scare on Sunday looks to be nothing major. And Kylie Kelce- the wife of Eagles legend Jason Kelce and sister-in-law of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce- went totally NSFW on her podcast regarding the Cowboys and their status as “America’s Team.” Classy.

Looking around the league, ex-Cowboy Brandin Cooks has signed with Buffalo after being cut by the Saints, and Lions superstar edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson admits that Micah Parsons’s megadeal from the Packers influenced his own new contract with Detroit… but not at all in the way you might think. Joe Burrow is coming back for the Bengals despite the team being out of the playoff mix, Chip Kelly’s sudden ouster in Las Vegas may have NFL teams re-thinking all those hotshot college coordinators, and the Panthers lose one of their players to a one-game suspension for taking a very cheap shot below the belt Monday night.

Aiyuk’s “$70M? KEEP IT!” Loyalty Nuke: Snubs Jaw-Dropping Offer to Vow “I’ll Die a 49ers Legend”

In a moment that instantly ignited headlines across the league, Brandon Aiyuk delivered one of the most powerful and unexpected declarations of loyalty the modern NFL has witnessed. At a time when star players are chasing bigger contracts, larger guarantees, and increasingly aggressive market valuations, Aiyuk stood in front of cameras, reporters, and stunned executives and uttered the sentence no one saw coming: “Keep it. I will die a 49er legend.” Those words, simple yet seismic, hit the NFL landscape like a thunderbolt. According to team insiders, Aiyuk was presented with a blockbuster $70 million offer—an offer that analysts widely assumed would be the foundation of his long-term future, whether in San Francisco or another major franchise desperate for a top-tier offensive weapon. Yet Aiyuk didn’t even blink. Instead of leveraging the moment for negotiations, he used it to send a statement that transcended money, contracts, and the transactional nature of professional sports. What followed was a wave of NFL analysts left speechless, fans roaring across social media, and former players praising a decision that seemed to come from another era—an era when identity meant something, when legacy meant more than numbers on a page, and when players fought not only for championships but for the crest on their helmet.
