Denver Broncos rookie Jahdae Barron just escalated their rivalry with the Kansas City Chiefs in a surprising way this week.

On Sunday, the Broncos scored their biggest win of the season in what has been a great year for Denver. This weekend, they welcomed division rivals the Chiefs into Empower Field in what was set up to be a major matchup for both teams.

Kansas City needed a win to keep its playoff hopes in a strong position, and Denver badly wanted a victory to show they are now the team to beat in the AFC West this season. After 60 minutes, the Bronos defense played a major role in leading the team to a 22-19 win. Moving their streak of Ws to eight straight.

Denver players were understandably joyous after a win over a team that has dominated the division for the last five years and has gone to the last three Super Bowls. Unfortunately, one of their younger players took things in a weird direction with some post-win trash talk to the Chiefs and one of their greatest players.

In a post on his Instagram account, cornerback Jahdae Barron uploaded a picture of himself making a defensive stop on a Travis Kelce catch in Sunday’s game, and captioned it by writing, “Tell Swift put me on a song right now.”

The picture unsurprisingly went viral, and Barron has since removed the post from his Instagram after the first-round pick received a lot of backlash for it. The trash talk is especially odd because the future Hall of Famer was the game leader in catches (9) and receiving yards (91) while also reeling in a TD this weekend.

Invoking his fiancée’s name in some random trash talk post surely will make Kelce circle the Chiefs and Broncos rematch on Christmas Day later this season.
