The New York Yankees experienced a devastating loss in the ALDS, with their super team falling to the Toronto Blue Jays. And now, with Cody Bellinger and Trent Grisham leaving, they’ll need to find replacements.

Fansided’s Christopher Kline believes one possible replacement for Bellinger is the Los Angeles Angels three-time MVP Mike Trout. Trout is already a big bat, and when put in with a team of other big bats, his game will elevate.

“The New York Yankees are never short on cash, even if Hal Steinbrenner and Brian Cashman like to speak as if the Yankees are scrounging for pennies. Both Cody Bellinger and Trent Grisham are free agents, which opens up a glaring hole in the outfield…On the other hand, he’s still Mike Trout, and the Yankees need to put in the work to catch Toronto and stave off Boston in the AL East. Very few free agent bats are as potent as Trout. If the Yankees can’t re-sign Bellinger or come out ahead in the Kyle Tucker negotiations, Trout quickly becomes one of their best — or at least, their highest-upside — options. Never say never,” Kline wrote.
This past season, Trout slashed .232/.359/.439/.797 with 14 doubles, 26 home runs, and 64 RBI in 130 games played. Put him into this electric Yankees lineup, and they become arguably the best in the MLB.

Combining the former ruler of the American League with the current in Aaron Judge is also a fun idea. Having the two three-time MVPs potentially bat back-to-back would be crazy.
If the Yankees miss out on the Kyle Tucker sweepstakes, this could be a good trade. Hopefully, they realize that and build a proposal just in case they need it.
