Rams-49ers final score: L.A. puts together their best win of the year

The Los Angeles Rams (7-2) beat the San Francisco 49ers (6-4) by a final score of 42-26 in Week 10 of the NFL season. MVP candidate Matthew Stafford and the Rams started out hot opening up the game with a 21-0 lead, but SF hung around and fought to keep themselves in the game eventually responding with touchdowns of their own to tighten up the contest.

Though this game ended up closer than it began, the Rams out player the 49ers through four quarters, and the final score reflected that.

The Rams started out in control with Matthew Stafford throwing two passing scores (four total) and Kyren Williams rushing for one as well. L.A. led 21-0 before SF put up 14 unanswered points of their own to make the score 21-14 and put some heat on the Rams.

The Rams were able to respond with a third passing score as Stafford found Davante Adams to make the score 28-14 after the successful extra point.

The 49ers kept fighting and in the fourth quarter, they scored again to make the score 28-20 after their failed extra point attempt (Jared Verse made a great block on the play).

The Rams then marched down the field to score again with Kyren Williams and make the score 35-20 after the successful extra point.

With Harrison Mevis kicking for the Rams today instead of Joshua Karty, L.A. went 6-6 on extra points.

On SF’s next drive, the Rams’ defense showed up and showed out as Emmanuel Forbes notched an interception on fourth down.

The game wasn’t over, but again the Rams were out playing their opponent, and when they took a 42-20 lead behind Stafford fourth passing TD of the day, it looked like the Rams would put away the game, but they had to finish it out.

The 49ers put up another six points to make the score 42-26, but with less than 3-minutes to go, the Rams were able to use the clock and put the finishing touches on a strong Week 10 showing.

Now, L.A. has set themselves up for their biggest game of the year to this point in Week 11 against the Seattle Seahawks.

The Rams are playing their best football of the season; can they keep it up? Tune in in Week 11 to find out.
