Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are looking to bounce back in Week 12 following their first loss of the season as they take on the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte, North Carolina. A few weeks ago against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kelce made NFL history in front of his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, becoming the oldest player to record 14 or more catches after turning 35 years old.
Against the Panthers, Kelce has a chance to break another record, which is currently held by former Kansas City tight end and NFL Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez. However, due to the game being at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, Swift will likely not be present. Still, with just one touchdown catch, Kelce would become the Chiefs’ all-time leader in receiving scores with 77, passing Gonzalez’s record of 76.

Kelce, also in his 12th season with the Chiefs, scored his 76th touchdown through the air on a 2-yard catch against the Denver Broncos on Nov. 10, tying Gonzalez for the most in team history.
However, due to the former Cincinnati Bearcats star missing most of his rookie year in 2013, Kelce would accomplish this in fewer games than Gonzalez did, assuming he does, in fact, score another receiving touchdown this season.
Kelce isn’t necessarily having his best year in the NFL through ten games. The nine-time Pro Bowler has recorded 62 catches for 507 yards and just two scores. Although he is on track to finish with over 100 catches in 2024, Kelce is also on pace to record his lowest amount of receiving yards and touchdowns since 2015.
Even with Kelce not making as significant of an impact as in previous years, Patrick Mahomes and company are atop the AFC standings going into Week 12 as they continue their journey to a potential Super Bowl three-peat.
