Averaging a crisp 31.7 points per game, Dak Prescott has CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, Jake Ferguson, KaVontae Turpin and Javonte Williams as his key weapons and all have made big plays already this season.
Lamb marked his return with 110 yards and a touchdown against Washington, while Pickens totaled 82 yards and Ferguson grabbed two touchdowns in the offensive explosion.
And when asked of what he thinks of the offense, Schottenheimer used one simple word.
“Fun,” Schottenheimer said. “It really is, because you can call plays and you just see the speed and explosiveness. The throw in two-minute from Dak to GP was incredible, 88 is really good at football.
“What I enjoy is watching these guys play the game the right way with passion, having fun to watch these guys celebrate with each other. That as a coach, that’s what makes you fulfilled because you see them playing the game together and loving it. When the love for your brother is more important than love for your own stats, that’s what gets you excited.”
Cowboys’ offense continues to roll vs. Commanders
In three of their last four games, this Dallas offense has over 400 yards of offense, while scoring 37, 27 and then 44 points as Prescott is orchestrating this thing at an elite level.
Clearly in the MVP conversation, Prescott now has four straight games of at least three touchdown passes but the best thing is that during this span, he’s had zero interceptions.
One could argue Dak is in the best form of his career, and having Lamb and Pickens as your one-two combo, plus a good run game with Javonte Williams to lean on at times, this Dallas offense is Super Bowl caliber.
If the defense can continue along similar lines as it did against Washington, this Cowboys team might be able to go places in 2025. Yes, moves likely need to be made before the trade deadline on the defensive side of the ball, but right now, this offense is playing like the best unit in football.
