The Green Bay Packers have a rich history of elite quarterback play, especially over the last several decades with Brett Favre and then Aaron Rodgers running the show.
Now, Jordan Love is under center in the tundra, and while he has mostly played well since being named the start in 2023, many Packers fans remain split on the signal-caller.

That is almost surely due to the fact that Green Bay fans have been spoiled by Favre and Rodgers over the years, but there are also reasons to not be 100 percent bullish on Love, primarily due to his inconsistency in spite of his brilliant arm talent.
But has it gotten to a point where Love is actually underrated?
Paul Noonan of Acme Packing Company thinks so, and he feels it may have to do with the fact that the Packers do not air it out as much as one might expect in the modern era.
“Love is a tricky evaluation, but I think he’s become underrated in some circles simply because the Packers don’t pass as much as most other teams,” Noonan wrote. “Maybe that should matter, and if there is a quarterback out there as efficient as Love, but with higher volume, that guy should get more credit. However, year in and year out, almost no one is more efficient on a per play basis than Jordan Love.”

Love has been very impressive this season, having thrown for 1,259 yards, nine touchdowns and a couple of interceptions while completing 70.1 percent of his passes over five games. That’s good for a 110.9 passer rating, so it’s hard to nitpick Love too much.
The increase in passing accuracy is particularly impressive considering Love completed a much more pedestrian 63.1 percent of his passes in 2024, which was actually down from 64.2 percent in his first full campaign the year prior.
Love spent the first two seasons of his career learning behind Rodgers after being selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
The Utah State product was so impressive during the second half of 2023 that he landed a four-year, $220 million contract extension that ensuing offseason, which made him a rather polarizing figure in Green Bay thanks to his up-and-down showing last year.
One thing is for sure, though: Love has taken a big step forward thus far in 2025, and he has done it without having the benefit of a true No. 1 receiver on the roster.
