⚾ 🚨 BREAKING: MARK DeROSA EMERGES AS TOP CANDIDATE FOR BRAVES MANAGER — IS IT A STUNNING HOME COMEBACK?

The Atlanta Braves are one of six MLB teams that are looking for a new manager. Shortly after the season, a couple of managers got fired, a couple announced they wouldn’t be returning, Brian Snitker is now in a senior advisor role, and Mike Shildt is stepping down as a manager for the time being.

Teams in MLB usually try to fill managerial holes before free agency, and the rumor mill is swirling for who the names are that will fill vacant positions. For Atlanta, former Braves player Mark DeRosa has been named a potential top candidate.

Mark DeRosa linked to Atlanta Braves manager spot

In a recent ESPN article by ESPN writers, Mark DeRosa is a ‘top candidate’ for the open Braves’ position.

DeRosa managed the USA team in the World Baseball Classic in 2023 and played for the Braves from 1998-2004. He is also managing the USA team in 2026.

The Braves went 76-86 in 2025, and had a rather dissapointing season.

Snitker’s contract expired after this season, and he has been in the Braves’ organization for nearly 50 years. It will be interesting to see what the Braves do with their open position. They can either hire a guy from outside the organization, like Mark DeRosa, or turn to a guy like Walt Weiss, who is familiar with the Braves’ inner workings.
