The Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs sustained devastating losses in Game 1 of the National League Division Series. For the Cubs, the knockout punch came early. Chicago allowed nine runs in the first two innings to the Milwaukee Brewers, putting Game 1 out of reach.

For the Phillies, the nail in the coffin didn’t come until later. With the team leading by a run in the seventh inning, Teoscar Hernández flipped the lead with a three-run blast. The vulnerable Los Angeles Dodgers’ bullpen was anything but over the final two innings, keeping the mighty Phillies’ offense from putting runs on the board.

Both teams are out for revenge in Game 2 on Monday. The Phillies kick things off, with Jesus Luzardo on the mound against Blake Snell. Later, Shota Imanaga will take the ball for the Cubs, hoping to keep the contest competitive for more than two innings this time around. The Milwaukee Brewers will counter with opener Aaron Ashby.
