GettyTheĀ Dallas CowboysĀ andĀ are up againstĀ theĀ New York JetsĀ onĀ Sunday, October 5, and itās anotherĀ big gameĀ for the franchise. Itās been kind of a strange year for the Cowboys, because, of course, theyāre missing star wide receiverĀ CeeDee Lamb, due to an injury, and are also getting their feet wet with a new head coach in head coach is Brian Schottenheimer, who took over for former head coach Mike McCarthy in January. The Cowboys have their franchise quarterback back in the fold,Ā Dak Prescott, and thatās good news, but honestly, some Cowboys fans seems to go hard on him. Sure, itās not easy being a quarterback, and thereās a lot of pressure on quarterbacks like Prescott, but they canāt do it all. Sometimes, the quarterback becomes the scapegoat if a team isnāt doing well. Weāre looking at youĀ New York GiantsĀ and Daniel Jones.
But, Prescott is getting a much needed, and deserved, boost going into the 2025-26 season, and itās just in time for theĀ JetsĀ game. At least someone in theĀ NFLĀ has noticed that heās been delivering this season, and theyāre letting the world know.
Dak Prescott is Having a Great Year With the Dallas Cowboys
Prescott is having a solid season with theĀ Cowboys, even if that hasnāt translated into wins.Ā Nick Shook of the NFLās websiteĀ has a piece out naming the best quarterbacks going into Week 5, published on Thursday, October 2.

TheĀ Cowboysā 1-2-1 record doesnāt suggest it, but Dak Prescott is having a fantastic season,ā he says in the piece. āHe put together an excellent performance in aĀ shootout with the Packers, completing 31-of-40 passes for 319 yards and three touchdowns, including arguably the NFLās best throw of the year toĀ Jalen TolbertĀ for aĀ 34-yard completionĀ that set up their field goal in overtime.ā
He added that āPrescott is firing some unbelievable passes into tight windows and propelling the offense, even withĀ CeeDee LambĀ sidelined.ā
So, yes, Prescott is on top of his game. Letās see how he does against theĀ JetsĀ this weekend.
Dallas Cowboys Predictions
As each week goes by, it seems like more and more analysts are noticing theĀ Detroit LionsĀ in a good way. In the NFLās latest power rankings going into Week 5, out on Tuesday, September 30,Ā Eric Edholm puts the Lions at No. 3.
āDetroit was not prolific offensively against Cleveland, but no one has been this season,ā Edholm says. āStill, this is the second time in four games where theĀ LionsĀ have been kept somewhat grounded on offense, even if theyāve taken good care of the football. Committing five offensive penalties was out of character, and Detroitās still trying to hone the connection between Jared Goff and Jameson Williams.ā
