The Kansas City Chiefs may have gotten their first win of the season, getting the better of the New York Giants 22-9 at MetLife Stadium, but it didn’t dispel any of the doubts over this team moving forward.<\/p>\n

The first half, in particular, wasn’t pretty, with Patrick Mahomes going 12 of 22 for 100 yards, the run game being nonexistent (no one over 17 yards), the Chiefs going three of seven on third down, and averaging just 3.5 yards per play.<\/p>\n

But in the second half, things ran a little smoother, as the Chiefs’ offense managed to score a couple of touchdowns to put some breathing space between themselves and New York.<\/p>\n

For NFL.com’s Grant Gordon, the win was the typical Mahomes game.<\/p>\n

“In many ways, the performance stands as an emblem of recent history with the Chiefs, one in which they persevere by winning ugly — and boy, was this in that category — with Mahomes simply doing whatever it takes,” Gordon wrote.<\/p>\n

Chiefs facing crucial Ravens test<\/h2>\n

There will be no respite for Andy Reid’s team as the chance to prove to the NFL world that the Chiefs still deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as other Super Bowl contenders arrives in Week 4.<\/p>\n

They host the Baltimore Ravens.<\/p>\n

This game will either solidify the thought that the Chiefs in 2025 simply aren’t in the Super Bowl conversation, or it will ensure that the many skeptics of them this season will have to eat a slice of humble pie…even if it is for only a week.<\/p>\n

So, a lot is riding on the Week 4 clash, and if the Chiefs play like they did in the first half, Lamar Jackson and Co. could feast at Arrowhead.<\/p>\n
