An eight-year-old German shepherd named Wang Wang works as a sniffer dog at a security checkpoint in Xichuan, Henan Province, central China.<\/p>\n

He will leave his agency in June 2019 after retiring and finding a permanent home where he may spend the rest of his days.<\/p>\n

Last month, a policeman who had served as Matan Wangwang\u2019s manager made the choice to surprise the dog by paying him a visit while on patrol near Wangwang\u2019s house.<\/p>\n

In a recent video posted on the Xichuan police Douyin account, the Chinese equivalent of TikTok, Wang Wang is being approached by officers.<\/p>\n

Wang Wang licked the legs of his former owner as he sobbed by his side.<\/p>\n

Police in Xichuan replied, \u201cPolice dogs are typically fed at the training center, but our officers cannot spend their time playing or exercising with retired dogs.\u201d<\/p>\n

They\u2019ll be better cared for at home than in a training center, in my opinion.<\/p>\n
