The San Francisco Giants aren’t quite done yet.<\/p>\n

They have Rafael Devers to thank for that.<\/p>\n

The superstar left-handed slugger, whose trade from the Boston Red Sox this season still feels like quite the shock, has finally heated up.<\/p>\n

And with his hot stretch has come a chance for the Giants to sneak their way into the postseason.<\/p>\n

First, the recent stats. Over his last 15 games, Devers is hitting .328 with six home runs and an OPS of 1.116.<\/p>\n

And the Giants are on a roll, having won seven of their last 10.<\/p>\n

They enter Friday just 1.5 games behind the New York Mets for the third and final NL Wild Card spot. The Cincinnati Reds are also 1.5 games back.<\/p>\n

Devers has finally gotten it really rolling with that smooth lefty swing of his.<\/p>\n

He’s certainly had an odd season.<\/p>\n

It began before Opening Day, with all the controversy about where he’d play in Boston after the signing of Alex Bregman.<\/p>\n

Devers didn’t help any headlines by beginning the year 0-for-21.<\/p>\n

But since then, his bat has been its usual self. He has a .277 average for the season with 31 home runs.<\/p>\n

The Red Sox are set to grab a wild card spot, or maybe chase down the AL East, and they’ve been fine without Devers.<\/p>\n

But there are few hitters in baseball as dangerous as Devers on a hot streak, and he’s on one right now.<\/p>\n
