Dodgers reliever Brusdar Graterol is expected to miss the first half of next season after undergoing surgery Thursday on the labrum in his right shoulder, the team announced.<\/p>\n
Graterol\u2019s surgery comes after a season plagued by shoulder troubles, in which he made just seven regular-season outings and missed the first two rounds of the playoffs.<\/p>\n
The 26-year-old right-hander was effective in his brief stints, posting a 2.45 earned-run average in the regular season and giving up just one run in three World Series appearances.<\/p>\n
His anticipated absence to start next season highlights the Dodgers\u2019 need to bolster their bullpen this offseason. Another right-hander, Daniel Hudson, announced his retirement after the World Series.<\/p>\n
