You know about the drops. Maybe you saw them. Maybe you only heard about them. They will be talked about and talked about and then talked about some more. You know about those. But did you know what\u00a0Dallas Cowboys\u00a0wide receiver CeeDee Lamb actually said about them?<\/p>\n

That is the most crucial part of the Lamb drops story. Philadelphia beat Dallas,\u00a024-20,\u00a0to open the season with a crucial win. For Dallas, all that will be talked about for the next few days (and beyond) are the drops. Lamb had three (a fourth was a tough catch) and according to ESPN he has 35 total drops since entering the NFL in 2020, most in the league. The network also said it\u2019s his second career game with three drops.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe guys that had a chance to make those plays, will make those plays,\u201d said Cowboys owner Jerry Jones after the game.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t worry about CeeDee Lamb,\u201d said Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer. \u201cCeeDee\u2019s going to be fine. What a great player. Again, this was a team defeat and we own that. We understand where we can go as a football team. We understand. I love the competition. I thought guys competed their butts off. I thought that was great, but we\u2019re all about winning and we didn\u2019t win tonight and therefore it\u2019s not good enough.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then came the quote from Lamb. \u201cThat\u2019s terrible. I can\u2019t point the finger at anybody else. I take full accountability and everything else that comes with it,\u201d Lamb said,\u00a0via The Athletic\u2019s Jon Machota. \u201cAs a player, I train for moments like that and the ball to come my way. I need to catch the damn ball.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lamb added that if you didn\u2019t think he\u2019ll come back from this moment, you\u2019re wrong.<\/p>\n

Lamb had 7 catches for 110 yards.<\/p>\n
