With Chase Young nursing a calf injury, the New Orleans Saints have added another pass rusher.<\/p>\n

The Saints signed defensive end Garrett Nelson to the practice squad Thursday and released quarterback Hunter Dekkers from it, the team announced. Nelson, who is 6-foot-3 and 249 pounds, spent the summer with the Denver Broncos after a UFL stint with the San Antonio Brahmas.<\/p>\n

Nelson went undrafted out of Nebraska in 2023. In four years for the Cornhuskers, he recorded 167 tackles, 27 tackles for loss and 12 sacks.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Nelson has never appeared in a regular-season game, but he had preseason stints with the Miami Dolphins and Cincinnati Bengals in 2023.<\/p>\n
