It has been some year for Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies, arguably the top power hitter in the game.<\/p>\n

All Schwarber has done over the past few years is swing the bat at a high level, hitting home runs with the best of them.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for the Phillies, there’s a significant price tag that comes with that, and something the front office has to understand. If the Phillies don’t want to give Schwarber the type of money he’s looking for, another team will.<\/p>\n

Will Kyle Schwarber Stay With the Phillies?<\/h2>\n

The problem, however, is the fact that the Phillies haven’t found much success in the postseason over the past few years.<\/p>\n

Outside of losing in the World Series, the Phillies have struggled when it matters most.<\/p>\n

Not all that falls on Schwarber, but there’s also a part of this story that suggests if Schwarber and the Phillies don’t at least make the World Series this year, how can they continue to run the same team back?<\/p>\n

Despite that question, Tim Kelly of Bleacher Report believes Schwarber will stay in free agency, adding that it\u2019ll likely take a four- to five-year deal to keep him around.<\/p>\n

\u201cSchwarber has the Phillies over a barrel having hit a career-high 49 home runs in his contract year. But both Phillies managing partner John Middleton and president of baseball operations have reiterated a desire to retain him.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt will likely take four or five years\u2014and probably fending off other suitors\u2014but there would be a mutiny among the fanbase if the Phillies allow him to leave in free agency,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Schwarber has made it seem in the past that he wants to stay in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

Of course, that could change if another team puts a $100-plus million deal in front of his face, but the early signs have been promising.<\/p>\n
