Not everyone is convinced that the Packers\u2019 blockbuster trade to acquire Micah Parsons will have kind of impact Green Bay hopes.<\/p>\n

One NFL executive offered a scathing warning for the Packers, and a call to temper some expectations after adding the All-Pro edge rusher with 52.5 career sacks.<\/p>\n

\u201cVery bad for Dallas in that they received little compensation in comparison to other superstar prime trades,\u201d\u00a0one NFC executive said, via Yahoo Sports. \u201cIt\u2019s OK for Green Bay in that their interests are to get beyond the first or second round. I think [Parsons is] a very productive regular-season player. I think when teams start running heavy in the playoffs, he becomes less scary.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The executive\u2019s criticism echoes Cowboys owner Jerry Jones\u2019 justification for trading Parsons being centered around Dallas\u2019 defense\u2019s inability to stop the run.<\/p>\n

According to Pro Football Focus, Parsons ranked as the NFL\u2019s No. 77-ranked run-stopping edge rusher, with a 65.5 run-stopping grade, juxtaposed against posting the fourth-highest pass-rushing grade at the position, at 91.6.<\/p>\n

While the Packers could potentially square off against the likes of Saquon Barkley and Jahmyr Gibbs on the road to a Super Bowl out of the NFC, it is difficult to believe that adding a game-changing edge rusher at the expense of a top run-stopping interior defensive lineman won\u2019t wind up working out for Green Bay.<\/p>\n
