The message was clear from Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Alex Vesia.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ll be back soon, I promise,\u201d he told a fan at a meet-and-greet at Benny Boy Brewing Saturday.<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n
Vesia emerged as the Dodgers\u2019 most reliable reliever this season as the bullpen was decimated by injuries. He is sporting a 2.75 ERA with 69 strikeouts across 52.1 innings pitched in 2025.<\/p>\n
The left-hander was the only reliever to remain healthy throughout 2025, until he was sidelined by a right oblique strain at the end of August.<\/p>\n
The injury flared up for Vesia while playing catch a few days prior, but he believes his stint on the injured list should be short-term.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere was no pull or grab or anything that made me concerned,\u201d Vesia said. \u201cI think (Roberts), all of our training staff is on the same page, just making sure that we knock it out now, make sure it doesn\u2019t get worse. There\u2019s no need to push it. I\u2019m very confident that I can resume throwing in my normal routine. So we\u2019ll take it one day at a time, and I believe in the 15 days we\u2019ll be good to go.\u201d<\/p>\n
Vesia brings a unique intensity to the Dodgers bullpen and his return will be crucial for LA down the stretch and into October. Dodgers Nation\u2019s Noel Sanchez asked Vesia about his incredible energy, and the reliever explained why he comes out of the bullpen with such high-intensity every game.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was a Division 2 baseball player, I don\u2019t take being in the big leagues for granted\u2026 the dog mentality is you have such a short window for success,\u201d Vesia said.<\/p>\n\n
