The Houston Astros announced right-handed pitcher Luis Garcia would be activated from the 60-day IL and make his 2025 debut on Monday morning. The Astros also activated outfielder Taylor Trammell from the 10-day IL.<\/p>\n

However, more good news is on the way in Houston. The Astros could get catcher Victor Caratini, outfielder Zach Dezenzo and centerfielder Jake Meyers back soon, according to MLB.com’s Brian McTaggart.<\/p>\n

Caratini hasn’t played since Aug. 26, and was placed on the seven-day concussion IL the following day. Dezenzo has been out since the end of May, and Meyers hasn’t played since July 9.<\/p>\n

Astros Continue to Get Healthier<\/h2>\n

The Astros had a great month of August in the health department. Houston went just 13-15 in the month, but got some major pieces of the team back from injury, and that’s continued into September.<\/p>\n

The Astros saw the returns of slugger Yordan Alvarez, and pitchers Cristian Javier, Spencer Arrighetti and Lance McCullers. The one big downside was the loss of closer Josh Hader. However, now the Astros could get three more pieces back in the near future as they prepare for the home stretch of the season.<\/p>\n

Caratini was nailed in the face mask by two foul ball deflections last week against the Baltimore Orioles and Colorado Rockies, and was placed on the seven-day concussion IL on Aug. 27. The Astros’ catcher did some running and threw to the bases on Monday and could be activated on Wednesday, per manager Joe Espasa.<\/p>\n

Dezenzo has been on a minor league rehab assignment, and has played four games at Triple-A Sugar Land. The Astros’ outfielder said he has five more scheduled rehab games, but is doing well.<\/p>\n

Meyers could join the Astros this weekend in Arlington for the team’s series against the Texas Rangers.<\/p>\n

Dezenzo has been dealing with a lingering hand injury and Meyers has been recovery from a right calf strain. However, Houston could have all three players back within the next week.<\/p>\n
