But one brilliant play may have ended any debate about whether he\u2019ll make the team this year.<\/p>\n<p id=\"OTLZGT3ALJFD3ONNZ5NXEPEHFA\">Chism, an undrafted rookie wide receiver out of Eastern Washington, showed incredible effort and elusiveness on a 12-yard catch and run for a touchdown before halftime against the Minnesota Vikings in Saturday\u2019s preseason game. You can watch the play here.<\/p>\n<p id=\"TQZBKMLCNRAMVEYAPK6QPCE3WY\">\u201cHe\u2019s dead at the 6, makes four guys miss, squeezes through two,\u201d Patriots broadcaster (and fan-favorite former QB) Scott Zolak said.<\/p>\n<p id=\"TUM5YL5A65ERDEN4Q7W7ZWPLPA\">Six different Vikings defenders had a shot at Chism on the play. But the undrafted rookie slipped them all, leading Zolak to make a statement.<\/p>\n<p id=\"7RX4ZMD5QBALXD75DKSG43HJZY\">\u201cOh my God. He just made the football team,\u201c Zolak said. \u201dI\u2019m sorry. He just made the football team right there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"AKFAJ3F5L5G4PMXN7MUKOIOMLM\">Former Patriots champs Jason McCourty and Devin McCourty were also in the booth and impressed by the play.<\/p>\n<p id=\"FOXPUMBAVRBUNK6VSZ22TOUTSI\">\u201cHe\u2019s just determined. He\u2019s had a mentality of \u2018I\u2019m going to make this football team, I\u2019m going to prove everybody,\u201d Jason McCourty said.<\/p>\n<p id=\"735IRFZODNADJKQXHKXFFVJYKQ\">\u201cLook at the team. Everybody\u2019s hype because they\u2019ve seen this guy do this day-in and day-out,\u201d Devin McCourty said. \u201cThis is what preseason football is all about.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"5ARTW7NTJ5DCJDAFDU7MZ4LOB4\">Former Patriots captain David Andrews took to social media to chime in on Chism\u2019s play.<\/p>\n<p id=\"QSNXZED76RD6JGA5D365IMLVJU\">\u201cNothing brings me joy like watching undrafted guys play their ass off in the preseason and go win themselves a job,\u201d Andrews wrote.<\/p>\n<p id=\"VBZUL352JBDVBIHCTKILWVOZ34\">Those are some legendary names in Patriots history that Chism managed to impress. Both McCourty brothers and Andrews are Super Bowl champs. McCourty and Andrews were also long-time captains in New England.<\/p>\n<p id=\"UOSLEK4YQBGDPDQBN6AJZOCPX4\">Chism has been impressing onlookers in camp for a while. But now, it\u2019s really starting to translate to games.
