\nThe Knights (55-62) and Redbirds (62-54) were in a gridlock through regulation, but the Knights handed over another win due to poor relief pitching. Charlotte put up 10 hits, stranded seven, and went 2-for-6 with runners in scoring position, while Memphis put up 12 hits, stranded six, and went 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position. But, in true Triple-A fashion, the bullpen blew the game. Ben Peoples oversaw the 5-5 tie broken, allowing a hit and two runs in the 1 1\/3 innings to lose the match in extras. His ERA with the Knights is now 6.00.<\/p>\n

\nA half-hour rain delay in the sixth inning cost the Barons (68-44) their pitching momentum, breaking a three-game win streak against the Blue Wahoos (57-54). Riley Gowens masked the quiet Bham bats, tossing five innings of one-hit ball while striking out five. Offensively, the Barons mustered four hits, and Mario Camilletti\u2019s RBI single in the fourth scored the only run. Jordan Mikel blew Gowens\u2019 strong start, relinquishing two runs off three hits when the game resumed. While Mikel\u2019s outing wasn\u2019t great, Birmingham\u2019s weak offense was the real letdown.<\/p>\n

\nThe Dash (44-66) came out to hit against the Tourists (46-64), evening the series at 2-2. Winston-Salem picked up 12 hits, seven of which came from Jeral Perez and Drake Logan. Perez had a perfect night, going 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBIs, and a home run. Logan was almost perfect, going 4-for-5 with two runs, four RBIs and a home run. Alec Mackarewicz, Cole McConnell, and Jackson Appel also had multi-hit games. With plenty of offense to go around, the Dash could afford to have a below-average night of pitching. While the rotation and bullpen still combined for nine strikeouts, they also gave up 12 hits and five walks.<\/p>\n

\nKannapolis (52-60) looked tired in their 60th loss. Ely Brown, Jordan Sprinkle, Ronny Hernandez, and Anthony DePino accounted for the three Ballers hits, as the lineup only moved one man into scoring position the entire game. Hernandez plated the only Kanny run, in the fourth with a sac fly, but the offense quickly petered out.<\/p>\n

The pitching wasn\u2019t terrible, but there were no standout performances.Ricardo Brizuela had a stronger start than usual, allowing two runs in four innings. Although Gabriel Rodriguez, who took the ball from Brizuela, added pressure on the offense by allowing two more runs in 1 2\/3 innings, his less-than-perfect outing isn\u2019t a tragedy; there have been far worse relief appearances this year. Hale Sims tacked two runs onto Augusta\u2019s total to end the night. The only pitcher to keep a run off the board was Marco Barrios, who threw 1 1\/3 hitless innings in an efficient 10 pitches.<\/p>\n
