Over the next decade, he said, he had two lung surgeries and two lymph node surgeries.<\/p>\n<p>He began the experimental therapy near the end of the 10-year period with PD-1, or Programmed Cell Death Protein 1, a type of immunotherapy that according to the American Cancer Society helps &#8220;the immune system recognize and attack cancer cells.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The often outspoken Jones is one of the NFL&#8217;s most recognizable owners.<\/p>\n<p>The Netflix series documents his purchase of the Cowboys in 1989, the firing of iconic coach Tom Landry, Jones&#8217;s hiring of Jimmy Johnson and the team&#8217;s glittering successes in the 1990s \u2014 when the Cowboys won three Super Bowls between 1992 and 1995.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jerry Jones says he was diagnosed with Stage 4 melanoma in 2010.\u00a0|\u00a0Imagn Images \/ VIA REUTERS Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has the Dallas Morning News that&#8230; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":77764,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-77763","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-nfl"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v23.6 -
