Taylor Swift shares father’s recovery update after heart surgery<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n

Taylor Swift\u2019s father Scott Swift is on a road to recovery after undergoing a major heart procedure.<\/p>\n

The singer\u2019s dad had complicated quintuple bypass surgery a month ago when a doctor noticed something odd during routine check-up.<\/p>\n

A source close to Taylor told\u00a0DailyMail.com<\/i>\u00a0that Scott\u2019s \u201crecovery has been so far fantastic\u201d.<\/p>\n

The pop superstar along with her brother Austin, 33, and their mom Andrea had been on his side throughout the entire surgery and recovery process.<\/p>\n

Taylor\u2019s rep further said that Scott\u2019s bypass surgery was not the result of a heart attack.<\/p>\n

According to Cleveland Clinic, the procedure includes \u201ccreating a bypass for more blood to flow to the heart, which is done by harvesting a blood vessel from a different part of the body\u201d.<\/p>\n

It is pertinent to mention that the surgery may last for several hours.<\/p>\n

However, those who undergo the surgery have a strong recovery rate and many report having improved symptoms later.<\/p>\n

Earlier in a 2019 interview with\u00a0Elle Magazine<\/i>, the\u00a0Cruel Summer<\/i>\u00a0crooner opened up that both her parents had battled cancer in the past.<\/p>\n

She shared the news when the singer wrote a story, 30 Things I Learned Before Turning 30, for the magazine.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, Taylor mentioned that she eventually \u201clearned how to handle serious illness\u201d in her family.<\/p>\n
