From undrafted free agent to potential starter in Dallas, former Kentucky Wildcats standout Zion Childress might have already made a name for himself this summer.<\/p>\n

Childress originally played two years at Texas State before transferring to Kentucky and playing three seasons in Lexington.<\/p>\n

In his three seasons, Childress tallied 148 tackles and 10 tackles for loss and did nothing but make plays during his time at Kroger Field.<\/p>\n

Although Childress was stellar in Lexington, he went undrafted and signed with the Dallas Cowboys just a few months ago as an UDFA.<\/p>\n

Not only has he been playing well in Dallas, but Childress actually has an opportunity to open the season as the starting nickel for the Cowboys after an impressive summer.<\/p>\n

Injuries in the Cowboys\u2019 secondary have opened up playing time for Childress, and he has taken full advantage of that alongside DaRon Bland and Kaiir Elam.<\/p>\n

In the Cowboys\u2019 first preseason game, Childress tallied six tackles against the Los Angeles Rams and will be looking to make more of an impact before Week 1.<\/p>\n
