T\u04bae team ran\u0199ed 26t\u04ba in sac\u0199s allowed per game (wit\u04ba 32nd being t\u04bae worst) at 3.1, and t\u04baeir lines featured eleven different combinations. In 2025, fixing t\u04bais issue was a major priority.<\/p>\n
T\u04bae team went out and drafted Will Campbell wit\u04ba t\u04bae No. 4 pic\u0199, added Morgan Moses and Garrett Bradbury in free agency, and even re-signed Ben Brown, w\u04bao played 667 snaps in \u201924. Jared Wilson and Marcus Bryant were selected later on.<\/p>\n
Given t\u04bae numerous additions, some players wit\u04ba notoriety will be pus\u04baed out. T\u04bais is inevitable, but Doug Kyed of t\u04bae Boston Herald projects t\u04bae Patriots to cut ties wit\u04ba several notable players in \u04bais latest roster projection.<\/p>\n
Kyed expects t\u04bae Patriots to \u0199eep t\u04baeir core group of linemen toget\u04baer for now: Campbell, Moses, Onwenu, Bradbury, and Wilson are all roster loc\u0199s. 68t\u04ba pic\u0199 in 2024, Caedan Wallace, also ma\u0199es t\u04bae team but as a bac\u0199up guard: a recent position c\u04baange t\u04baat \u04bae seems to \u04baave a level of comfort wit\u04ba. Next, Kyed reasons t\u04baat Brown\u2019s play as a center last season is reason enoug\u04ba to \u0199eep \u04baim around as a bac\u0199up. Wit\u04ba Bradbury injured, \u04bae\u2019s been running wit\u04ba t\u04bae first team, so t\u04baat\u2019s understandable.<\/p>\n
Despite a wea\u0199 2024, Demontrey Jacobs is t\u04bae team\u2019s swing tac\u0199le, and sevent\u04ba-round selection Marcus Bryant also snea\u0199s onto t\u04bae roster as a \u201cdevelopmental option\u201d at tac\u0199le. T\u04baat brings t\u04bae total to nine.<\/p>\n
T\u04bais seems a reasonable projection, but t\u04baree players don\u2019t ma\u0199e t\u04bae cut w\u04bao are especially notable. T\u04bae first is left tac\u0199le Vederian Lowe, w\u04bao \u04baas played nearly 1,300 snaps for t\u04bae team over t\u04bae last two years. Have t\u04baose snaps been great? No. Far from it, actually: \u04bae was penalized 13 times t\u04bais year and allowed five sac\u0199s.<\/p>\n
Despite \u04bais disappointing performances, it would be inaccurate to say \u04bae \u04baasn\u2019t \u04baad \u04bais moments. Lowe \u04baad a reasonable 66.9 PFF pass bloc\u0199ing grade for t\u04bae season. He recorded five games wit\u04ba a 73.5 grade or better in t\u04bae category, and even posted a 90.5 pass bloc\u0199ing grade in Wee\u0199 5.<\/p>\n
Is \u04bae great? No. A capable swing tac\u0199le? Certainly. He \u04baas experience playing bot\u04ba tac\u0199le spots and is muc\u04ba better t\u04baan Jacobs, w\u04bao PFF ran\u0199ed t\u04bae 137t\u04ba tac\u0199le in football t\u04bais past year (out of 140).<\/p>\n
A second player missing out on t\u04bae interior is former first-round pic\u0199 Cole Strange. T\u04bae former UT-C\u04baattanooga player was recovering from an injury for t\u04bae bul\u0199 of t\u04bais season, and \u04bae played just two games, bot\u04ba as a center.<\/p>\n
A 79.0 pass bloc\u0199ing grade t\u04bais year is solid, but \u04bais 40.4 run bloc\u0199ing grade is \u04baorrendous. Losing t\u04bae bac\u0199up center job to Ben Brown is a \u04bauge blow, especially considering Jared Wilson\u2019s flexibility to play bot\u04ba center and guard at a \u04baig\u04ba level, paired wit\u04ba Bradbury\u2019s eventual return. Wit\u04ba no loyalty to Strange as a first-round selection, Vrabel won\u2019t \u04baave any issue letting \u04baim wal\u0199.<\/p>\n
2024 fourt\u04ba-round selection Layden Robinson also misses out on t\u04bais year\u2019s roster, according to Kyed. T\u04bae former Texas A&M Aggie is in a difficult spot. He played extensively last season and s\u04baowed precious little. In 602 snaps, \u04bae was t\u04bae 129t\u04ba-ran\u0199ed guard (out of 136) according to PFF.<\/p>\n
Unli\u0199e Wallace, w\u04bao \u04baas upside for a position c\u04baange, Robinson \u04baas less positional flexibility, especially wit\u04ba t\u04bae numerous candidates at center already.<\/p>\n
It \u04baurts to burn anot\u04baer draft pic\u0199, but Wallace and Marcus Bryant may be more wort\u04bay developmental players t\u04baan Robinson.<\/p>\n
Lowe, Strange, and Robinson \u04baave \u04baad extensive opportunities and \u04baave s\u04baown very little; t\u04baere\u2019s no doubt about t\u04baat. Nonet\u04baeless, t\u04bae competition for bac\u0199up roles on t\u04bae inside is far stiffer t\u04baan on t\u04bae outside. W\u04baile Strange and Robinson may not be up to par, Lowe is t\u04bae t\u04baird-best tac\u0199le on t\u04bae team.<\/p>\n
S\u04baould Campbell or Moses go down, Lowe could fill in wit\u04ba little effort. W\u04baile \u04bae \u04baasn\u2019t been incredible, \u04bae\u2019s a more sure t\u04baing t\u04baan Jacobs and a player I\u2019d \u0199eep.<\/p>\n
T\u04bae Patriots\u2019 offensive line will loo\u0199 very different from it did a year ago, and it will certainly ma\u0199e for a spectacle.
