Brian Snitker has officially shut down Atlanta Braves reliever Joe Jim\u00e9nez, citing lingering issues with his surgically repaired left knee during rehab in Florida.<\/p>\n
Jim\u00e9nez, the veteran setup man for Atlanta, underwent offseason surgery in late October 2024 to repair articular cartilage damage in his knee and was originally given an 8 to 12 month recovery window.<\/p>\n

Originally transferred to the 60-day IL in March, Jim\u00e9nez was tracking for an August return. Now, even a second-half comeback is uncertain. Snitker said the knee \u201cjust kind of wasn\u2019t holding up,\u201d and the Braves have shut him down indefinitely.<\/p>\n
Jim\u00e9nez\u2019s absence has definitely been felt in the bullpen. Without one of their go-to late-inning guys, the Braves have had to shuffle things around and lean on other arms to pick up the slack. With no clear timeline, it\u2019s a wait-and-see situation for now.<\/p>\n
