The Knights stumbled a bit in July, going 10-13 to fall back to four games worse than .500 overall.<\/p>\n

Right-handed starting pitcher Yoendrys G\u00f3mez, 25, was terrific for the Knights, posting a 1.42 ERA across four starts. G\u00f3mez started this season with the Yankees, who signed him as a free agent in 2016. G\u00f3mez remained in that organization continuously until this season, and on May 10, the White Sox selected him off of waivers after a brief stint with the Dodgers. G\u00f3mez got off to a rough start, but he has been very reliable for the Knights over the past couple of months. G\u00f3mez also posted a 2.65 ERA in 17 innings in June as well, and overall has posted a 2.06 ERA in 43 2\u20443 innings with the Knights. At this rate, he should earn a promotion before the season comes to a close.<\/p>\n

The Barons caught fire in June, as they are one of Minor League Baseball\u2019s hottest teams.<\/p>\n

Starter Shane Murphy, 24, was dominant once again, so he has earned another Baron of the Month award. This feels like d\u00e9j\u00e0 vu after last month, as Murphy has been very consistent. Murphy\u2019s numbers with the Barons are eye-popping, as he has a 1.37 ERA and a 2.99 FIP in 85 2\u20443 innings with them. Overall, Murphy is making use of his abilities to limit walks (1.26 BB\/9) and homers (0.63 HR\/9), and it is showing in his numbers.<\/p>\n

The Dash had another mediocre month, going 10-13, but there were some strong individual performances to go around.<\/p>\n

Corner infielder Alec Makarewicz, 24, stood out from the crowd during an excellent month. Makarewicz consistently made sharp contact, and as a result was difficult for opposing pitchers to keep off base. Makarewicz led the Dash in OPS, homers, and RBIs in July, and he swiped three bases without getting caught. Overall, Makarewicz is 9-for-9 in stolen bases this season, and is slashing .238\/.315\/.390 (108 wRC+).<\/p>\n

The Cannon Ballers slipped slightly further below .500 than they had been at the beginning of July, although the team was much more stable than it was in June, when Kannapolis went only 8-17.<\/p>\n

Pitcher Hale Sims, 25, could have hardly been any better during the month. Sims is in the middle of his second professional season, as the White Sox signed him to a minor league contract in June 2024. Sims got off to a rough start last year, but it has been an entirely different story for him in 2025. Sims dominated opponents throughout the month, and in 43 1\u20443 innings (all with Kannapolis) Sims has posted a 3.32 ERA and a 2.89 FIP.<\/p>\n

The ACL White Sox slowed down after a huge, 15-8 month of June, wrapping up their season with an 8-9 finish in July. The ACL White Sox\u2019s final record of 33-27 tied them for the division lead, but the title went to the ACL Rangers via tiebreaker.<\/p>\n

Center fielder Christian Gonzalez, 18, made his time with the ACL White Sox count. Gonzalez earned a rare midseason promotion from the DSL to the ACL on July 7. Gonzalez was on fire in the DSL, and he did not slow down much after being promoted. Gonzalez went 16-for-42 with a homer, two doubles, and four walks, as he provided a lot of offense from a premium position.<\/p>\n

The DSL White Sox took a step in the wrong direction in July, going 8-11 to slip back below .500.<\/p>\n

Catcher Jose M. Mendoza, 17, was on fire throughout the month: 14-for-33 with a homer, three doubles, six walks, and 12 RBIs in 12 games, resulting in a 1.119 OPS. On top of that, Mendoza has provided solid defense behind the plate. Up to this point in the season, Mendoza has only allowed one passed ball, and he has caught 10 runners attempting to steal.<\/p>\n
