<\/main>The Atlanta Braves shockingly didn’t opt to make very many moves at the trade deadline. The reason this is so shocking is that the Braves are one of the worst teams in the league and could have used some valuable assets to land younger assets.<\/p>\n

But the Braves didn’t do much of anything. That could change in the next few months.<\/p>\n

FanSided’s Christopher Kline recently predicted the Braves\u00a0would cut ties with infielder Ozzie Albies\u00a0in an offseason trade after opting to hold onto him at the trade deadline.<\/p>\n

“At his peak, Albies was integral to the Braves’ World Series run and a steadfast, five-tool player in the heart of the lineup. Well, now the bat is ice-cold and Albies isn’t good enough as a defender or a base-runner to keep him around,” Kline wrote. “Another team will gladly take a low-stakes gamble on a 28-year-old with Albies’ track record, but Atlanta’s poor depth makes it difficult to stomach consistent underperformance from a ‘key’ piece.<\/p>\n

“It won’t be hard for the Braves to find a more stable option at second base. Albies is beloved in Atlanta, but patience is wearing thin. Unless he can dramatically improve his output in the coming months, the Braves will be active on the trade front next offseason, with Albies available to the highest bidder.”<\/p>\n

The Braves are in desperate need of a rebuild ahead of next season. They have a lot of talent, including the dynamic Ronald Acu\u00f1a Jr. This disastrous season has seen a mix of poor play and injury woes that has sent the Braves to the bottom of the league.<\/p>\n

If the Braves opt to trade Albies, they would be getting better. There are bound to be better second base options on the market, either in free agency or on the trade block, for the Braves to bring in to replace the former star.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
