Jared Goff threw five interceptions. Sam Darnold threw three. And somehow, both the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings still won their games on the road during the Green Bay Packers\u2019 bye week.<\/p>\n
In a weekend that started out well for the Packers \u2014 the Chicago Bears looked hapless in a 19-3 loss to the New England Patriots \u2014 they were poised to get some help from a pair of AFC South teams against the Vikings and Lions. But instead, neither team could hold a lead in the fourth quarter, allowing varying degrees of comebacks to the top two teams in the NFC North.<\/p>\n
The Jaguars did it in truly embarrassing fashion, giving up their 7-6 lead by allowing the Vikings to go on a 16-play drive, then turning the ball over three times in the final seven minutes to squander any possibility of a comeback of their own. And the Texans? They led 23-7 at halftime and got another two picks from Goff in the third quarter. But C.J. Stroud threw two picks of his own in the entire second half as their own offense picked up only five first downs after the break.<\/p>\n
And thus, a great opportunity for the Packers to get some help while they sat idle ended in disappointment. As a famous baseball player once said, \u201cF*** you, Jobu, I do it myself.\u201d<\/p>\n
