When Trevon Diggs actually takes the field for the Dallas Cowboys, he’s undoubtedly one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL.<\/p>\n
But it’s no secret that the two-time Pro Bowler hasn’t been the most reliable player on the roster in recent years, missing a total of 21 regular-season games for\u00a0America’s Team\u00a0over the past two seasons due to multiple injuries to his left knee.<\/p>\n
Nevertheless, Diggs has recorded 20 interceptions over the course of his five-year career, which already has him in the 14th position on the Cowboys’ all-time list.<\/p>\n
And if the Alabama alum can tack on a few more during the upcoming 2025 campaign, which obviously means he’ll need to be healthy enough to be on the field to do so, he can make a little franchise history by getting himself into the top 10.<\/p>\n

That obviously has nothing to do with what we’re discussing here, but that’s always a fun fact to throw out there.<\/p>\n Now, it’s certainly worth noting that more than half of Diggs’ career interception total came during that incredible 2021 campaign in which he earned First-Team All-Pro honors after recording a league-high 11, matching the single-season franchise record first set by the great Everson Walls during his rookie season in 1981.<\/p>\n Diggs recorded three picks as a rookie in 2020 and another three in 2022, at which point he was given a five-year, $97 million extension.<\/p>\n But just a few days after recording his first interception of the 2023 season in Week 2 against the New York Jets, he tore his ACL in practice, thus putting him on the shelf for the rest of the year.<\/p>\n And while he appeared in 11 games a season ago, adding two picks to his career total, he was never quite right and was ultimately shut down in mid-December. Diggs later underwent a complicated knee procedure, one from which he’s obviously still recovering, as he was\u00a0placed on the PUP list\u00a0to open training camp.<\/p>\n It’s\u00a0unclear when the 26-year-old will return, but the Cowboys are naturally hoping it’s sooner rather than later.
