Former Chicago Cubs infielder Jeimer Candelario in February paid $725,000 for a three-bedroom condominium in the Lakeview neighborhood.<\/p>\n

Candelario, 31, played for the Cubs in 2016 and 2017 and again in 2023. He left the Cubs to sign a three-year, $45 million contract with the Cincinnati Reds, starting in 2024, but after struggling this year, he was released by the Reds in June. He most recently joined the New York Yankees organization, and currently is playing for one of the Bronx Bombers\u2019 minor-league teams.<\/p>\n

In Lakeview, Candelario bought a condo in a newly built, six-unit building from the building\u2019s developer. It has two full bathrooms, an open living area, natural hardwood floors, and a kitchen with Thermador appliances, floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, under-cabinet lighting, quartz countertops, a quartz backsplash, modern open shelving, an island with a waterfall counter and bar seating, and a pantry.<\/p>\n

Other features include a living room with a gas fireplace and a custom surround, and a primary bedroom suite with a large walk-in closet and a bathroom with a freestanding tub and dual sinks. The condo also comes with a rooftop deck.<\/p>\n

The condo first had been listed in October for $759,000 and was reduced in January to $729,000.<\/p>\n

Peter Vasilakos of Suburban Life Realty represented Candelario. In an interview, he told Elite Street that he did not know why his client chose to buy the unit.<\/p>\n

Candelario and his wife, Andreina, also own a five-bedroom house in Villa Hills, Ky. \u2014 a Cincinnati suburb \u2014 that they bought in early 2024 for $943,703, according to public records.<\/p>\n
