The Baltimore Orioles are poised to make plenty of moves at MLB’s trade deadline this season. The O’s are 7 games back of an American League Wild Card spot, and at this point, are attempting to salvage what they can get from these four players.<\/p>\n
There have been many trade rumors surrounding these four Orioles players, who may see themselves off Batimore’s roster come next month.<\/p>\n
Despite saying publicly that he would like to stay with the Orioles,\u00a0Ryan O’Hearn is as good as gone\u00a0in most insiders’ eyes including ESPN which gives him an 85% chance to be traded before the deadline.<\/p>\n
O’Hearn is having a really good year to this point, smashing 11 home runs, hitting for a .287 average, and an OPS well above average. The reason O’Hearn will also likely be gone is because of multiple team’s need for corner infielders.<\/p>\n
Orioles’ starting pitcher\u00a0Zach Eflin also has great odds\u00a0to be moved ahead of the trade deadline, because virtually every contending team is in the market for starting pitchers.<\/p>\n
The Detroit Tigers and Los Angeles Dodgers come to mind immediately as teams that could use depth starters.<\/p>\n
Eflin has an inflated ERA, but a change of scenery could be what he needs, and this gives the Orioles a good chance to get something out of a pitcher who has not been good for them this season.<\/p>\n
Outfielder Cedric Mullins is also a player on the Orioles who may see himself on the trade block within the next couple of weeks.<\/p>\n
Another one of the players that\u00a0insiders believe has a good chance\u00a0of being moved. Mullins’ production at the plate has slowed since he returned from injury, but he’s providing some of the most power in his career.<\/p>\n
Despite his .213 average, Mullins is slugging .415, and has 26 XBH in 73 games played.<\/p>\n
The last player who may see themselves off the Orioles roster by the end of this month could be closer Felix Bautista. Bautista missed all of 2024 with injury, but he has been stellar this season for an Orioles team that has not had many closing situations.<\/p>\n
However,\u00a0dealing Bautista away\u00a0would garner a solid return of at least a couple of prospects to help build the farm system.<\/p>\n
