The Kansas City Chiefs are seeing their star quarterback Patrick Mahomes gain some extremely unwanted attention on social media.\u00a0 The three-time Super Bowl champion was ridiculed by an angry father after he refused to give an autograph.<\/p>\n

Patrick Mahomes was just looking forward to playing golf. Rather, he was caught up in an awkward dad moment that has now gone viral:<\/p>\n

When a kid asked him for an autograph, the\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs\u00a0star was playing in the 2023 American Century Championship. Mahomes turned the request down, citing tournament rules, but the kid\u2019s father didn\u2019t take it well.<\/p>\n

A video of the uncomfortable exchange resurfaced in 2025 and quickly picked up steam across social media. Fans watched the clip in disbelief as the dad pushed back at the\u00a0Super Bowl\u00a0champ, right on the course.<\/p>\n

Mahomes explained to fans that he had been told to slow down on autograph signings because it affected the pace of play.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey told me I can\u2019t do anymore\u2026 I was signing stuff, and they said I was taking too long,\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Mahomes told the group nearby.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Still, one young fan gave it a shot.\u00a0\u201cMr. Mahomes, will you sign my jersey when you\u2019re done?\u201d<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0the boy asked. The quarterback, still polite but firm, replied,\u00a0\u201cCan\u2019t sign for everyone\u2026 can\u2019t make everybody happy.\u201d<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0That\u2019s when the dad chimed in.\u00a0\u201cYeah, you can\u2026 you can just make one kid happy out of a hundred,\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>he said.<\/p>\n

Mahomes didn\u2019t flinch.\u00a0\u201cI\u2019ll make 99 sad,\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>he shot back.\u00a0\u201cThat\u2019s alright\u2026 one out of 99, at least it ain\u2019t zero percent,\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>the dad added, pushing the issue a little further.<\/p>\n

The exchange ended without incident, but the clip lit up in X (formerly Twitter) again in 2025, reigniting conversations around fan access, athlete boundaries, and public expectations.<\/p>\n

Despite the brief tension, Mahomes quickly returned to his game. Known for his calm under pressure on the field and apparently on the fairway, he brushed off the awkward moment and focused on his swing.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
