The Boston Red Sox have promoted power-hitting prospect Blaze Jordan to Triple-A Worcester, according to an industry source.<\/p>\n
The 22-year-old Jordan, who plays both corner infield positions, batted .320 with a .415 on-base percentage, .513 slugging percentage, .928 OPS, six home runs, 11 doubles, 37 RBIs, 30 runs, 22 walks and 19 strikeouts in 44 games (176 plate appearances) for Double-A Portland.<\/p>\n

He started 28 games at first base and 14 games at third base.<\/p>\n
The WooSox\u2019 next game is against Rochester on Tuesday at Polar Park.<\/p>\n
Boston drafted Jordan in the third round (89th overall) in 2020. He received a $1.75 million signing bonus.<\/p>\n
Baseball America ranked him as high as Boston\u2019s No. 7 overall prospect entering 2022. The site had him No. 21 in its organizational rankings entering 2024. But he struggled offensively last year and dropped off Baseball America\u2019s Red Sox Top 30 list.<\/p>\n
He is back in the prospect conversation again after a dominant May. He went 32-for-82 (.390 batting average) with a .490 on-base percentage, .671 slugging percentage, 1.161 OPS, six homers, five doubles, 24 RBIs, 18 runs, 14 walks and 11 strikeouts in 26 games.<\/p>\n

Jordan has been vocal about mental health. He posted\u00a0a lengthy message Oct. 1, 2023, on X. He wrote that his anxiety and depression\u00a0hit \u201ca breaking point\u201d at the end of the 2021 season. He was hospitalized for four or five days and missed the final two weeks of his first professional season.<\/p>\n
\u201cI told him how proud we are,\u201d\u00a0manager Alex Cora said\u00a0in February 2024. \u201cSame situation as Jarren (Duran) last year. He was open about everything he was feeling. We want more of that. It makes the person better. It makes the organization better. It makes the world better.”<\/p>\n
