NFL season 2025 is about to get underway for CBS announcer Tony Romo but his personal life is making all the headlines:<\/p>\n

The NFL announced earlier this week its complete schedule for the 2025 regular season. CBS, unsurprisingly, will be broadcasting a lot of\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs,\u00a0Buffalo Bills\u00a0and\u00a0Baltimore Ravens\u00a0games in primetime slots in 2025. The Chiefs are coming off of three straight Super Bowl appearances, though they fell to the\u00a0Philadelphia Eagles, 40-22, in Super Bowl 59.<\/p>\n

The 2025 season could be a big one for Romo. The former\u00a0Dallas Cowboys\u00a0quarterback is making roughly $20 million at CBS. He was praised almost immediately for his on-air work, though in recent years, he\u2019s faced some criticism. CBS recently promoted J.J. Watt to their No. 2 game analyst, leading some to think that he could ultimately replace Romo in the booth \u2013 just like Romo did with Phil Simms.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Romo sticks to football most of the time, though he has previously made it clear where he stands politically, too \u2013 at times upsetting some NFL fans.<\/p>\n

The ex-Cowboys quarterback has played\u00a0golf\u00a0with President Trump.<\/p>\n

\u201cI played golf today with a really good golfer: Tony Romo. Do you know Tony Romo?\u201d Trump said. \u201cHe may be a better golfer than a football player. I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

Romo also previously attended\u00a0the White House Correspondents Dinner as a guest of Fox News. He also shared an interest in the Republican field.<\/p>\n

President Trump has repeatedly praised him, too.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fact that Tony Romo got hurt is a terrible thing for the Dallas Cowboys,\u201d Trump said in 2015. \u201cI think Tony\u2019s a great guy, I know him and he\u2019s also a great football player and it certainly will hurt Dallas.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Romo also took heat by some NFL fans for praising ex-U.S. President George W. Bush on the air, though he stood by his comments.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s very impressive. He loves sports, he loves America. One of the greatest human beings you\u2019ll ever meet,\u201d\u00a0Romo said.<\/p>\n

Some NFL fans took issue with him.<\/p>\n
