The San Francisco 49ers have reached an agreement with star quarterback Brock Purdy on a long-term extension. He\u2019ll get a five-year deal worth $265 million, putting him in the $53 million-per-year range that Jared Goff got from the Detroit Lions last offseason.<\/p>\n
The five-year extension includes $181 million in guarantees, according to NFL Network\u2019s Tom Pelissero, including $165.05 million in the first three years of the deal. According to SI\u2019s Albert Breer, Purdy will get $215 million over the first four years.<\/p>\n
Purdy was destined to get a long-term extension that was expected to pay him over $50 million per year. Ultimately, he becomes the seventh-highest-paid quarterback in the NFL at $53 million per year, coming behind just Dak Prescott, Joe Burrow, Jordan Love, Josh Allen, Trevor Lawrence, and Tua Tagovailoa on a per-year basis.<\/p>\n
The 49ers quarterback has gone 23-13 in three years as the team\u2019s starter, throwing for 9,518 yards, 64 touchdowns, and 27 interceptions for his career.<\/p>\n
Purdy had a bit of a down year in 2024 compared to his record-setting 2023 campaign, tossing for 3,864 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, as San Francisco dealt with a plethora of injuries.<\/p>\n
Nonetheless, the 49ers made it a priority to extend Purdy this offseason, and they got it done before organized team activities (OTAs), which start later this month.<\/p>\n
Purdy\u2019s extension is the second major one that the 49ers have gotten done this offseason, joining George Kittle, who received a four-year, $76.4 million extension last month that made him the highest-paid tight end in the NFL.<\/p>\n
