The Boston Red Sox need something to wake them up from a 22-23 start.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s real problems to address, but luckily for Boston, the season has plenty of baseball left to play, the division is weak and the American League is fairly open.<\/p>\n

While these three players may not all solve immediate problems, they need to be in Boston to give the Red Sox the best chance at breaking free and emerging as the contender they were believed to be before the season.<\/p>\n

Two bats and a leverage arm. Waiting in Worcester. Waiting for the call from the Red Sox.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what these three prospects have done and how they can help the Red Sox flip the script after six weeks of the regular season.<\/p>\n

Roman Anthony
\n<\/strong>2025 Stats: .306\/.428\/.478, .905 OPS, 5 HR, 17 RBI, 27 R, 12 XBH<\/em>
\nThe Red Sox need to promote baseball\u2019s top prospect. There\u2019s nothing left for him to prove in Triple-A.<\/p>\n

Yes, Boston does have a crowded outfield that collectively boosts the ball club. That\u2019s been the roadblock all year and all offseason for Anthony. With that said, the time is here where Boston can no longer deny Anthony\u2019s bat. He forced the issued. He punished inferior pitching. He\u2019s more than ready to spark the Red Sox at the plate and help the club improve across the board with<\/p>\n

Marcelo Mayer<\/strong>
\n2025 Stats: .282\/.350\/.500, .850 OPS, 8 HR, 39 RBI, 26 R, 14 XBH<\/em>
\nThis move might be the most timely one for the Red Sox.<\/p>\n

Mayer hits in the clutch. He plays a smooth shortstop. He may even fit best into the current roster construction of the Red Sox. If Boston would be open to trying Trevor Story at first base, there would be room for Mayer in the big leagues.<\/p>\n

Like Anthony, the Red Sox might have to get uncomfortable to get Mayer at-bats because he\u2019s more than earned the right to do so at the MLB level.<\/p>\n

Luis Guerrero<\/strong>
\nMLB Stats: 12 G, 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 14.0 IP, 12 K, 2 BB, 7.7 K\/9<\/em>
\nBoston\u2019s bullpen needs help. There\u2019s no reason Guerrero should continue to be neglected or denied a chance to help.<\/p>\n

He hasn\u2019t given up a run at the MLB level in 14 innings. His stuff plays. He\u2019s another leverage reliever to lessen the workload of Justin Slaten and Garrett Whitlock among others who have faltered with missed locations and hard contact in recent weeks.<\/p>\n

The Red Sox still probably need another leverage reliever if they\u2019re contending around the trade deadline, but Guerrero should be in the bullpen right now to go get outs when it matters.<\/p>\n
