After the Dallas Cowboys’ quietly underrated boom this offseason, it’s clear that the\u00a0home run move to trade for George Pickens\u00a0has changed some opinions on the outlook for the team going into next season.<\/p>\n
The same old Jerry Jones who was once ‘all-in’ following the embarrassing playoff loss against Green Bay in the 2023 playoffs finally followed through on his promise.<\/p>\n
It might’ve taken a season too late, but it happened nonetheless. It also helps that Dallas seemingly hit a home run in the 2025 NFL Draft.<\/p>\n
The Cowboys’ projected starting lineup actually gives them a shot against the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles to open the season,\u00a0even if Vegas thinks otherwise.<\/p>\n
In anticipation of Wednesday’s schedule release, Cowboys legend Troy Aikman appeared on ABC’s\u00a0Good Morning America\u00a0with ESPN college Joe Buck\u00a0to discuss the 2025 season. Aikman made a reasonable but still surprising take that will have the heads of every Cowboys fan spinning this offseason.<\/p>\n

This is only surprising considering Cowboys fans have been listening to Aikman call games for decades.<\/p>\n
As one of the most balanced broadcasters on television, this is rather unexpected with Aikman always being one to critique his former team. It is part of what makes Aikman one of the best in the business.<\/p>\n
Again, this is the same Aikman who called out the Cowboys’ lack of effort last season, and called out the wide receivers as being\u00a0‘lazy’ and ‘terrible’\u00a0in terms of their route running. It was a rant that was needed to call out their poor performances on offense, and it boiled over after an embarrassing loss at home to the Detroit Lions.<\/p>\n
Buck’s pick wasn’t a shocker. He picked the Buffalo Bills and for Josh Allen to finally get over the hump of Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs.<\/p>\n
Cowboys fans aren’t too familiar with hearing Aikman spewing positive sentiments about their team largely because he’s been realistic.<\/p>\n
