On Sunday night, the team received more good news: Simmons officially signed his four-year, fully guaranteed rookie contract with the organization.<\/p>\n
According to his agents Drew Rosenhaus, Robert Bailey, and Oliver Chell, the deal is worth approximately $14 million.<\/p>\n
This marks an important development for Mahomes, who now gains another key piece up front in Josh Simmons \u2014 a highly regarded offensive tackle who helped Ohio State win a national championship during his time with the program.<\/p>\n
However, Simmons is coming off a torn patellar tendon suffered in October. Despite the injury, the Chiefs remain optimistic, with expectations that he\u2019ll be ready for training camp.<\/p>\n
