The Atlanta Braves are preparing for a tough series as the Los Angeles Dodgers come to town for a three-game set. When these teams met last, the Braves were swept and dropped to 0-7 on the season.<\/p>\n
Things have improved since then but it won’t be a cake walk. While we wait for that series to begin, a few noteworthy things have been released on Atlanta’s end. Let’s check out some of that news below.<\/p>\n
The Braves are excited to host the 2025 MLB All-Star Game at Truist Park. Featured during that week will be an All-Star Village that will be composed of 500,00 square feet throughout the Cobb Galleria Centre.<\/p>\n
Capital One All-Star Village will feature over 50 unique activities, including Capital One PLAY BALL PARK and a Rookie Leagues area for young fans. More than 40 Braves alumni are expected to attend, as well as MLB Hall of Famers and Olympic softball stars.<\/p>\n
All-Star Week will be July 12th through July 15th and fans can purchase tickets at AllStarGame.com for $35. Chavez has a 6.00 ERA over three MLB innings and he just continues to return to Atlanta no matter what happens. Just when you think he’s ready to hang up the cleats, he keeps going.<\/p>\n Thompson has seen limited action but he was decent for the Braves over 3.2 innings. He had one walk to three strikeouts. Both relievers returning allows Atlanta to keep their pitching depth, which has proven to be important this season.<\/p>\n Veteran lefty reliever Chasen Shreve was released by the Braves on Thursday. He signed a non-roster deal with the team in January and he started four of his five outings with the Stripers. Things did not go well as he allowed 11 earned runs through 17.1 innings with five walks and 12 strikeouts.<\/p>\n His fastball velocity averaged 89 mph and that was a career-low for Shreve. I’m sure he had hoped his second stint with the Braves went better than it did.
