Vet WRs who could be potential trade targets for the Cowboys.<\/p>\n

The 2025\u00a0NFL Draft\u00a0has come and gone and the\u00a0Dallas Cowboys\u00a0surprisingly didn’t draft a single wide receiver despite nearly everyone believing that was one of their biggest roster needs heading into the big event.<\/p>\n

They either really love their current group of WRs or believe strongly they can upgrade to position before the start of the 2025 NFL season.<\/p>\n

In a press conference over the weekend Jerry Jones noted the Cowboys could still elect to add to the receiver position, stating “the train has not yet left the station”.<\/p>\n

That suggests there could potentially be something in the works and it’s logical to believe that will come via trade considering what’s available on the open market.<\/p>\n

Going along with that line of thinking, we took a look around the league to see what veteran receivers could be on the trade block who the Cowboys could potentially be interested in. Below is what we came up with.<\/p>\n

Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Okay, we only mention Tyreek Hill because there have been rumors circulating throughout the offseason he could be traded. He’d no doubt upgrade the Cowboys receiving corps and be a near-perfect pairing for CeeDee Lamb, however, the draft capita it would take to acquire him and the salary Dallas would have to take on makes this trade unlikely.<\/p>\n

We can’t rule out anything with Jerry Jones, but again, this trade seems highly unlikely to happen.<\/p>\n

George Pickens, Pittsburgh Steelers<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Cowboys apparently had discussions about acquiring a veteran WR from a AFC North team and George Pickens is believed to be said player.<\/p>\n

Nothing ever materialized on this front, but the door could be open still. There are concerns about Pickens’ locker room presence, but there’s no questioning he would be an immediate upgrade in Dallas. Depending on trade compensation, this trade could potentially still be on the table.<\/p>\n

Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Courtland Sutton is entering the final year of his contract in 2025 and as of yet hasn’t made much progress with the Broncos for an extension.<\/p>\n

Also, the Broncos just drafted Illinois WR Pat Bryant in the third-round over the weekend. The 6’3″, 200-pound rookie WR could be viewed as Sutton’s replacement, further feeding the rumor mill he could be traded. Sutton, a Texas native, would be a great fit on the outside in Dallas if they acquired him via trade.<\/p>\n

Quentin Johnson, Los Angeles Chargers<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Quentin Johnson is just entering Year 3 in the NFL and might be fighting for roster spot with the\u00a0Chargers\u00a0in 2025 after they drafted Tre Harris in the third-round and KeAndre Lampert-Smith in the fifth.<\/p>\n

The 6’4″, 215-pound WR has shown flashes of his first-round talent, but has lacked consistency so far in his two years in the league. Maybe a change of scenery to his home state of Texas to play for the Cowboys would help him reach his full potential.<\/p>\n

Alec Pierce, Indianapolis Colts<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Alec Pierce is probably most realistic trade candidate for the Cowboys on this list. He’s entering the final year of his rookie deal and may be the odd man out in Indianapolis after they drafted TE Tyler Warren over the weekend.<\/p>\n

With Michael Pittman and Josh Downs ahead of him on the depth chart and after drafting Adonai Mitchell in the second-round last year, Pierce’s time with the Colts could be coming to an end. He could be the much-needed deep threat Dallas’ offense has been missing after leading the league last year in yards per reception (22.3).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
