Even though the purpose of Monday’s White House visit was to celebrate the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl LIX victory, President Donald Trump just couldn’t help himself. As he delivered a speech congratulating the Eagles’ 40-22 domination of the Kansas City Chiefs on Feb. 9 in New Orleans, Trump capitalized on the chance to throw some shade at Taylor Swift, the girlfriend of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his own personal nemesis.<\/p>\n
It wasn’t the first time Trump had taken a jab at the “Shake It Off” singer, who he publicly said he hated while campaigning during the 2024 election. “The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift,” Trump wrote on Truth Social after the Super Bowl. “She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!”<\/p>\n
So when the opportunity presented itself again to throw some shade Swift’s way, Trump didn’t hesitate to take it. “I was there, I watched in person,” Trump proudly stated. “I was there along with Taylor Swift. How did that work out? How did that one work out?”<\/p>\n
And though many of the Eagles players and executives, including general manager Howie Roseman, in attendance found the humor in Trump’s remarks, the reaction from users on social media was the opposite. AGAIN !.. Trump begging for Taylor Swift’s attention. Absolutely pathetic,” another fan exclaimed. “This isn’t a normal behavior .. his obsession with Taylor needs to be studied..,” a third fan replied. “He picked the Chiefs to win the game while glazing Pat Mahomes ,” one user quipped.<\/p>\n
“Cool story, dude was rooting for the Chiefs. (Brittany Mahomes) \u2018I love her, love her, love her,'” another user pointed out. “Even [the Eagles’] visit to the White House is about Taylor. How are you not even the main character in the SB you won…embarrassing ,” stated one user. “I swear Taylor Swift lives rent free in his head what is with these men’s sick obsession with Taylor like leave her alone,” another user asserted. “Donald [expletive] Trump needs to keep Taylor Swift and Canada out of his vocabulary,” one fan remarked.<\/p>\n
