After coming off one of the worst seasons in major league baseball history, the White Sox were never expected to compete in 2025. However, the White Sox have been playing much better baseball than last year despite their record, as they just took two out of three from the Boston Red Sox.<\/p>\n
Most of the attention will be on the farm system, as the hope is that some of the big names in the minor leagues will help the major league team compete in the near future, as the White Sox have six top-100 prospects on the MLB Pipeline list.<\/p>\n
One name from the top six has been in the news as of late, as Colson Montgomery has gotten off to a very bad start to the 2025 season. This, in part, has caused a higher up within the White Sox organization to make a visit to the AAA team to work some things out.<\/p>\n
According to Scott Merkin, White Sox hitting coordinator Ryan Fuller has made his way to Jacksonville, where the Charlotte Knights are playing over the next few days.<\/p>\n

It is interesting that Merkin specifically notes that Montgomery has \u201cbenefitted from\u201d instruction from hitting coordinator Ryan Fuller. This is important, as if Montgomery can get back on track, he could potentially help the team in Chicago.<\/p>\n
It is nice to hear that there has been some positive interactions between the two, as it may already be working. After a brutal stretch, Montgomery had a very solid game yesterday.<\/p>\n

Immediately after working with Fuller, Montgomery went two for four with a homerun. This is a good sign, as Montgomery had started the season hitting less than .100 with a ton of strikeouts. Hopefully any adjustments that were made can help sustain some success, or if there was a mental block, it gets removed so Colson can go back to being the top prospect everyone knows he can be.<\/p>\n
While it may be a coincidence that Montgomery\u2019s best game since the first of the season comes right after meeting with Fuller, it is still nice to see. Hopefully they can stay in contact to make sure Colson stays on the path to Chicago.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
