The Atlanta Braves finally have their All-Star catcher back as Sean Murphy returned from his rehab assignment a few days ago. This meant the team had to make a roster spot available and with Drake Baldwin impressing everyone early on, Chadwick Tromp became the odd man out.<\/p>\n
Tromp has been a trusty backup for the Braves over the years when Murphy or Travis d’Arnaud were injured. He was known to be a great presence in the clubhouse as well. Tromp has a great personality and that seems to be a common factor with players from Cura\u00e7ao.<\/p>\n
Atlanta outrighted Tromp to Triple-A Gwinnett, but he rejected and declared for free agency. This was pretty much expected and he deserves a chance to play for a big league club. Atlanta now has Murphy, Baldwin, James McCann, and Jason Delay for catching depth.<\/p>\n
Despite Tromp leaving the team, he remained a stand-up dude his entire Braves tenure. This was shown even more when he extended a kind gesture to a fan just days before he was designated for assignment.<\/p>\n
Beaneater Buzz, is a well-known influencer on the social platform X (formerly known as Twitter) and he’s a massive Braves fan. He wasn’t able to make it to Opening Day but encouraged his followers to show up and support the team. Atlanta was 0-7 at this point and needed the hometown boost.<\/p>\n

He shared this online and stated he soon received a direct message from Tromp informing him that he would cover him on tickets if needed.<\/p>\n Earlier this week, I posted about how I couldn\u2019t make it to Opening Night but that people should show up and support the team.<\/p>\n To my surprise, about an hour later, I got a DM from Chadwick Tromp telling me that if I needed tickets to the game that night he had me covered.<\/p>\n As\u2026 https:\/\/t.co\/UjBSNmH904<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u2014 Beaneater Buzz (@BeaneaterB) April 6, 2025<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n Beans appreciated the gesture and stated, “The humility and kindness of Chadwick Tromp was not lost on me.” This exemplifies the Braves’ emphasis on bringing in good players who are also good fits in the clubhouse. Everyone in the organization loved Tromp and he will be missed.<\/p>\n I’ll leave you with the final paragraph of the post shared because I think it sums up perfectly the impact Tromp had on the organization and the fan base.<\/p>\n “We see players come and go from the team every year and sometimes they lose a guy that hasn\u2019t played a huge role on the field, but you know their absence will still leave an impact. This is one of those guys. Great human, always smiling and the pitching staff loved him. I hope he gets an MLB job somewhere.”<\/p>\n No matter where Tromp lands, he will be a great addition.
