New York Mets infielder Brett Baty has had a rough start this season, and his roster spot could be in jeopardy. The 25-year-old is slashing .111\/.111\/.148 in 27 at-bats with no homers or RBIs.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, fellow infielder Jeff McNeil (oblique) is progressing in his rehab, via The New York Post. The 33-year-old slashed .238\/.308\/.384 with 12 homers and 44 RBI last season and .270\/.333\/.378 with 10 homers and 55 RBI in 2023.<\/p>\n

Baty could get replaced by McNeil on the roster if he doesn’t heat up soon. The 6-foot-3-inch, 210-pounder sounded off after going 0-for-3 in the Mets’ 5-0 loss to the Miami Marlins on Wednesday, via SNY.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u00a0“Just kind of indecision,” he said about why he’s struggling. “Just being in-between, not having the finger on the trigger. I need to do a better job offensively and defensively, for sure.”<\/p>\n

Baty only has three hits all season.<\/p>\n
