The Dallas Cowboys need a new quarterback. No, not a starter. Despite Dak Prescott\u2018s season-ending hamstring injury that required surgery in 2024, he\u2019ll return for his 10th year as the Cowboys\u2019 starting QB.<\/p>\n
However, after losing Cooper Rush to the\u00a0Baltimore Ravens\u00a0and letting\u00a0Trey Lance\u00a0test free agency, the Cowboys need a new backup behind Prescott.<\/p>\n
For now, the only two quarterbacks on the Cowboys\u2019 QB depth chart are Prescott and Will Grier, who has never thrown an NFL touchdown but does have four interceptions across 52 pass attempts.<\/p>\n
Needless to say, the Cowboys are identifying other options at quarterback and now we know two names they\u2019re interested in.<\/p>\n

With Dak Prescott coming off an injury, the Dallas Cowboys are practically guaranteed to add another quarterback or two to the roster this offseason.<\/p>\n
The only question is who will be joining \u201cAmerica\u2019s Team?\u201d<\/p>\n
Recently,\u00a0ESPN\u2019s Cowboys insider Todd Archer\u00a0revealed one free agent target worth watching and a draft prospect who could be on Dallas\u2019 radar during draft weekend.<\/p>\n\n
\u201cThe Cowboys are in the market for a backup quarterback to\u00a0Dak Prescott. Coach Brian Schottenheimer did not rule out the addition of a veteran after the Cowboys lost\u00a0Cooper Rush\u00a0to the Ravens. Currently,\u00a0Will Grier\u00a0is the only other QB on the roster. A name to watch is\u00a0Drew Lock, who spent last year with the Giants. The Cowboys had an interest in\u00a0Jacoby Brissett, but he signed with Arizona earlier in the free agency period. The Cowboys would like to select a quarterback in the draft and will have an in-person meeting with Texas\u2019\u00a0Quinn Ewers\u00a0next week.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/figure>\n
The Cowboys got a good look at Lock after he started Week 13 against them last season. In doing so, Lock completed 65.6% of his passes for 178 yards and a touchdown. The Giants ended up losing by just seven points.<\/p>\n
