The New York Mets are now 2-3 after their 4-2 loss to the Miami Marlins on Tuesday, largely because their lineup hasn’t been up to par. Outside of their 10-run game on Monday, they haven’t passed three runs in a contest once this season.<\/p>\n

However, New York was unlucky to lose Tuesday’s contest, as it out-hit Miami 5-3. Star shortstop Francisco Lindor committed a fourth-inning error that allowed two unearned runs to score off ace pitcher Kodai Senga, and the offense couldn’t produce enough to make up for that.<\/p>\n

Lindor, who also hit an RBI single in the third inning, took full responsibility for his mistakes, via SNY.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

“I felt we played a clean game except two pitches. My two ground balls,” the four-time All-Star. “I take a lot of pride in it [my defense], and it doesn’t feel good.”<\/p>\n

Lindor’s first error was in the second inning, but catcher Luis Torrens bailed him out by catching Dane Myers stealing second base for the final out.<\/p>\n

“I talked to Senga, he said, ‘Don’t worry about it.’ I picked him up many times, but it still kind of hurts, you know?” Lindor continued. “I wish I would’ve done better for Senga. Senga had a great game, and it’s unfortunate that I didn’t finish the play for him. He executed all night long, definitely should be better.”<\/p>\n
